Benefits of using a Gua Sha

The "Gua Sha" originally has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine. Gua Sha stones have been used in Asia for thousands of years and have enriched many people's well-being since then.
A lymphatic massage with a Gua Sha stone has many benefits for our skin and our well-being.
Before diving into the benefits of a Gua Sha, it is important to mention that repeated use is necessary for optimum benefits on your skin.
One benefit of using a Gua Sha is lymphatic drainage which reduces swellings and defines facial features.
A Gua Sha stone can be used on more area's then just the face; you can massage neck and back areas like your spine or your collarbone. The massage tool eases muscular tension and can reduce headaches.
Our face and body are full of muscles that work all the time, so if you think about it; a facial massage with this tool helps rejuvenate those tired muscles, speed up new cells and collagen formation and help with circulation.
A Gua Sha massage can be done very quickly and is easily integrated into your skincare routine.
Regular use can help the skin to absorb more of your beautiful skincare products.

How to use a Gua Sha Skin Tool:

Cleanse your skin and then moisturize it with (for example) the Golden Glow Serum.

You can start from chest to neck to face or from neck to face.

For beginners hold your gua sha stone flat against your skin, or at a slight 10 degree angle.

Pressure is light to medium ( definitely don't press to hard ).

You can use your two hands, one hand to support and create light tension on your skin while the other hand is gently pulling your gua sha tool. Always use gentle pulling action on your skin with the gua sha stone.

Keep your stroke slow and mindful.

Repeat each stroke for at least 4 to 8 times on each side.

Start with one side of your chest, neck and face then repeat the same strokes on the other side.

Pause and observe the difference (firmness, complexion and puffiness)  between the two sides before massaging on the other side.

Apply additional oil or serum during massage if needed.

NOTE: It is normal for your skin to appear slightly red. The redness should calm down around 15 minutes after massage. Always clean your gua sha tool before and after using it. Don't use the gua sha tool if your face is very sunburned or inflamed, wait until it has healed before using the gua sha again. Drink a glass of water after your gua sha routine.
